Terms of sale

These terms apply to every order placed on this website by a consumer in Great Britain. Please read them before you order. Last updated 28 September 2026.

1. Who we are

This website is operated by First72 Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under company number [company number]. Our registered office is [registered office address].

You can contact us by email at [support email] or by phone on [phone number]. If we need to contact you, we will use the email address or phone number you gave us with your order.

2. Our products

We sell two emergency preparedness kits: First72 Personal and First72 Family. The contents, quantities, packed weight and shelf life of each kit are listed on its product page. Product images are for illustration; the kit you receive will match the written description.

Each kit contains items made by other manufacturers, such as a first aid kit, food, a radio and a power bank. Each item keeps its own manufacturer's labelling, instructions and warnings. Please read them before use.

Water is not included in either kit. Health guidance suggests storing about 3 litres of drinking water per person per day.

3. How the contract is formed

  1. You add a kit to your cart, go to checkout and enter your details.
  2. Before you pay, you can review your order and correct any mistakes.
  3. When you click the button to pay, you place an order with an obligation to pay.
  4. We email you to acknowledge your order. This is not yet acceptance.
  5. The contract between us is formed when we email you to confirm your order has been dispatched. If we cannot accept your order (for example, because a kit is out of stock or we cannot deliver to your address), we will tell you and will not charge you, or will refund you in full.

4. Prices and payment

Prices are in pounds sterling. We are not registered for VAT, so no VAT is added. Delivery to Great Britain is free, so the price you see on the product page and in your cart is the total you pay; there are no hidden charges.

Payment is taken when you place your order and is processed securely by our payment provider, Stripe. We never see or store your full card details.

If we discover an obvious pricing error, we will contact you before dispatch. You can then confirm the order at the correct price or cancel it for a full refund.

5. Delivery

We deliver to addresses in England, Scotland and Wales. We do not currently deliver to Northern Ireland or outside the United Kingdom.

We aim to dispatch within 2 working days of your order by a tracked courier service, and in any event we will deliver within 30 days unless we agree a different date with you. If we cannot meet a delivery date, we will tell you as soon as possible.

The kit becomes your responsibility once it is delivered to you or to someone you have nominated. Ownership passes to you once we have received your payment in full.

Because each kit contains a lithium battery (in the power bank and radio), we ship only with couriers approved to carry it. Please do not re-post the kit by air.

6. Your right to cancel

You have 14 days from the day you receive your kit to cancel your contract for any reason. Full details, exceptions and a cancellation form are in our Returns and cancellation policy, which forms part of these terms.

7. If something is wrong with your kit

We are under a legal duty to supply products that are of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. Nothing in these terms affects your legal rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

In summary: if your kit is faulty or not as described, you can reject it and get a full refund within 30 days of delivery. After 30 days, you can ask for a repair or replacement, and if that is not possible or does not fix the problem, you can get a price reduction or a refund. You have up to 6 years (5 years in Scotland) to bring a claim. This is a summary; for full information visit Citizens Advice or call 0808 223 1133.

If there is a problem, contact us at [support email] with your order number and, if possible, a photo. We will cover reasonable return postage for faulty items.

8. Safety, expiry and recalls

The earliest expiry date of any item in your kit is printed on the label on the bag. Food, protein bars, first aid items and hand warmers have limited shelf lives; check them before relying on the kit.

Keep glow sticks, batteries and small items away from young children. Store the kit in a cool, dry place away from heat sources.

If we ever need to recall or correct an item, we will contact you using the details you gave with your order. Please keep your order confirmation.

9. Our responsibility to you

If we fail to comply with these terms, we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking this contract or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We only supply kits for domestic and private use.

We do not exclude or limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, for breach of your legal rights in relation to the products, or for defective products under the Consumer Protection Act 1987.

A First72 kit is a preparedness aid. It does not replace official instructions from the emergency services or government, or professional medical care. In an emergency, call 999.

10. Events outside our control

We are not responsible for delays caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as courier failures, severe weather or supply disruption. If this happens, we will contact you, take steps to minimise the delay, and you may cancel for a full refund if the delay is significant.

11. Reviews

We publish genuine customer reviews only. We do not write, buy, incentivise or selectively hide reviews.

12. Complaints

If you are unhappy, please contact us at [support email]. We aim to reply within 1 working day and resolve complaints within 14 days. If we cannot resolve your complaint, you can contact Citizens Advice for guidance, or bring a claim in the courts.

13. Other terms

We may transfer our rights under this contract to another business; we will tell you and it will not affect your rights. You may only transfer your rights with our written agreement.

If a court finds part of these terms unlawful, the rest stays in force.

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland, you can bring proceedings in Scotland, and you keep the protection of any mandatory provisions of Scottish law. If you live in England or Wales, you can bring proceedings in the courts of England and Wales.
